Special Programme for Skill Development of Rural Youth under Swarnajayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana (SGSY), Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India
This is a special programme of Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India for Skill upgradation of Rural Youths and to ensure them employment and self employment opportunities. It has been envisaged to provide skill development to 4000 rural youths falling Below Poverty Line from rural areas of Pune District & to place 70% among them.
The main objectives are as under:
- Extend support to the BPL youths to optimize their potentials.
- Provide technical know-how.
- Guide the youths about the market scenario.
- Provide employment after training.
- Extend support in uplifting the economic standards of youths & their family to APL.
The project had been getting implemented in whole Pune district. It has been mostly covering extreme rural and poor people who cannot afford expensive computer education. Community needs assessment survey was undertaken by the organization wherein the need of community, potential of the courses to be commenced and market need for employment opportunities was taken into account.

The project had total target of training 4000 beneficiaries from the whole district within the project duration. Till date totally 4072 Trainees have been trained and out of that totally 3045 has been placed with various corporates and companies.
