Dyan-Deep Jankalyan Foundation, a registered non-profit, non-governmental, non-religious, voluntary social organization from Pune has been registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 No. Maharashtra/1048-97/Pune and the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950 No. F-14273/Pune. Dyan-Deep Jankalyan Foundation is women organisation, working for women/widows from below poverty line / low income group families, by women. Dyan-Deep initiated its activities more than twenty years ago to empower under privileged sections of society particularly women and girls, and it has been running its activities mainly in Skill Development, Education – Vocational Training and Women Empowerment.

The very first activity was the vaccination camps and diagnostic camps for the slum dwellers of Gultekadi area of Pune, which were blessed by the presence and involvement of Dr. Ashok Kolaskar, the Vice Chancellor of Pune University (then Director, Bioinformatics Centre, University of Pune).

The story of initiating such type of organization goes back to the days when the founder Secretary of Dyan-Deep, the National Kabaddi Player, former Senate Member of Savitribai Phule Pune University in 2006 appointed by Chancellor and Governor of Maharashtra State, a first women representing non-teaching staff on the Senate of the University, Vijaya Dahiphale, initiated the work as an institution. This was the beginning of a long term and persevering effort called Dyan-Deep.

The Dyan-deep Foundation had been conducting developmental programs like organising Free Vaccination Programs, Free Eye and Dental check-up Programs, Self Employment Programs and other related activities in the slums in and around Pune city like Janata Vasahat, Parvati; Gultekadi Industrial Area, etc. De-worming tablets were given away to children at Dyan-Deep Health Centre, Pune.
