Health Activities
Ambulance Service: Dyan-Deep Jankalyan Foundation has been providing ambulance service to needy and poor people in a very marginal rates. The service is even getting offered free of cost to extreme poor and needy person. The organization has received a Ambulance Van as a donation from State Bank of India’s Social Service Banking Department. Many needy and poor people have taken benefit of the ambulance and the organization is committed to continue the same in future.
a) Health & Hygiene : The aim is to eradicate the problem of health hazards at the very root and to generate an awareness of Health and Hygiene. Dedicated Doctors, Community Health Volunteers (C.H.V.) and devoted social workers offer their services for this noble cause. These community health programs include the following services -
(1) Ante-Natal Care :
Early registration, regular checkups, timely reference, health education, necessary medicines, diet and other help for pregnant woman.
(2) Post-Natal Services :
Consultation, advice and treatment through regular visit and follow-up for the new born child and the mother.
(3) Immunization :
For all children right from birth upto 5 years inclusive of BCG, Triple Polio, Measles, Booster Doses etc.
(4) Weighing, Gradation and Nutrition :
For identifying malnutrition in children at an early age. Supplementary nutrition is provided to more than 100 third grade malnourished children.
(5) Health Education :
Through home visits, group meetings, lectures, demonstrations, films, songs and street plays. A great help in generating awareness about health and hygiene which can prevent and cure many basic primary health hazards.
(6) Free Dental Check Up :
a) Successfully organised ‘Free Eye and Dental check-up as well as Distribution of Spectacles’ at Dyan-deep Health Centre, Janata Vasahat, Pune on 4th April, 1999. This program was jointly organised by Rotary Club, Tilak Road, Pune and Ushakal Foundation. Asst. Commissioner of Police Mr. Suresh Kamlakar inaugurated the program. Dr. Mohan Paranjape, Chief, Eye-care Committee, Rotary Club, Pune; Dr. Shrikant Wakanwar, Dr. Mrs. Nirmala Sarpotdar, Mr. Shrikant Pujari, Member, PMC; Mrs. Kamaltai Vyavahare, First Woman Mayor of PMC; Mr. Vasant Umardand, Director, Vishweshwar Bank; were present as chief guests. We have checked 120 dental-patients.
(7) Free Eye Check Up :
a) Successfully organized ‘Free Eye check-up as well as Distribution of Spectacles’ at Dyan-deep Health Centre, Gultekadi Industrial Area, Pune on 16th May, 1999. This program was jointly organized with Rotary Club, Parvati and Hill Side, Pune. Asst. Commissioner of Police Mr. Pratap Dighavkar inaugurated the program. Mr. Dattatraya Gaikwad, Mayor, Pune presided over the function. Dr. Mohan Paranjape, Mr. Shrikant Pujari and Mr. Arun Zagade, Member, Pune Municipal Corporation; Mr. Vyankat Avadhoot; PSI Ajit Joshi were present as chief guests. Total 260 patients were checked and 75 spectacles were given free of charge. Rotary Club Parvati and Hill Side, has provided financial support for cataract and retina surgery of 12 patients.
b) Successfully organised a ‘Free Eye check-up and Distribution of Spectacles Program’ at Dyan-deep Health Centre, Janata Vasahat, Pune on 13th February, 2000. This program was jointly organised by Rotary Club, Parvati, Pune. Asst. Commissioner of Police Mr. Pratap Dighavkar inaugurated the program. Mr. Vijay Pawar, District Information Officer presided over the function. Mr. Shrikant Pujari, Member, Pune Municipal Corporation; Mr. Satish Misal, Member, Pune Municipal Corporation; Mr. M.B. Avhad, Director, Cosmos Bank; Mr. Vasant Umardand, Director, Vishweshwar Bank; were present as chief guests. Dr. Mohan Paranjape, Chief, Eye-care Committee, Rotary Club, Pune and Dr. Shilpa Joshi checked 210 eye-patients and 37 patients were given spectacles. We have distributed de-worming tablets to 600 children at the hands of Dr. Jyotsna Purohit, Chairman, Human and Child Care, Rotary District 3130
(8)Vaccination :
a) Successfully Organized ‘Free Vaccination Program’ (Triple, Polio, Measles, Booster) at Janata Vasahat, Pune on 22nd August, 1998. 220 children from 0 to 6 years of age have taken an opportunity (Inaugurated by Asst. Commissioner of Police Suresh Kamlakar, Dy. Mayor Bhagwan Kshirsagar, Manager, Union Bank of India Tilak Road Br. Y.N. Chipte, Dattawadi P.S.I. Ajit Joshi). ‘Free Vaccination Program’ was continued on 24th August, 1998. 80 children were present. ‘Free Vaccination Program’ was continued on 27th September, 1998. 208 children were present. ‘Free Vaccination Program’ continued on 30th Oct., 1998. 180 children were present.
b) Successfully Organized ‘Free Vaccination Program’ (Triple, Polio, Measles, Booster) at Gultekadi Industrial Area, Pune on 4th December, 1998. 218 children from 0 to 6 years of age have given the vaccines. (Inaugurated by Chairman, Standing Committee, Pune Municipal Corporation Mr. Ramesh Bodke and Samaj Kalyan Officer Mr. Pokale).
c) During the National Program of Polio Vaccination at Janata Vasahat, 781 children were given the polio vaccine.
d) Regularly organizing ‘Free Vaccination Program’ (Triple, Polio, Measles, Booster) to the children on the last Thursday of every month at Gultekadi Industrial area and on first Thursday of every month at Janata Vasahat./
e) During the National Program of Polio Vaccination on 24th October, 1999 at Janata Vasahat 1165 children were given the polio vaccine which is a commendable feat in the Pune Municipality area.
