Strengthening Education In Human Value Programme
This programme has been implemented by Dyan-Deep in association with Department of Higher Education, Government of India. The basic aim of the programme was to inculcate and strengthen Human Values among school going children. School children were made aware about importance of Human Values and their consequences in human beings.The programme included following activities.
Development of audio-visual teaching media for school children
The basic concept of this activity is to develop audio-visual material and show it in to the school which will make children understand the subject more in details. The techniques used in the developing teaching material are two documentaries which the organization has got developed from a professional studio and has been showing it to the students of VII to Xth standard. The activity was implemented in association with the Human Resource Development Ministry of Government of India through the scheme of Strengthening Human Values in Education. Details of these two documentaries are as follows;
Documentary of Communal Harmony
It is a documentary that deal with developing the concept of communal harmony in the mind of children. School going age is the age where one can inculcate the concept of communal harmony in the mind of a person. Also this is the age where children get filled their mind with violence which lead them to the criminal activities. Hence the organization has included this documentary in its programm. The documentary talk about humanity, effect of the communal riots and the loss the country is suffering due to the absence of communal harmony. The documentary have shown Prof. Ashok Kolaskar, former Chancellor of Pune University and Mrs. Anu Aga, former chairman of Thermax Ltd. as host.
Carton Film on HIV/AIDS
Considering the drastic multiplication in HIV/AIDS patients in the country it is very important to make our next generation aware about it before they become the victim of this disease. To tackle with the issue the organization has developed a carton film which make the viewer aware about the possible threat and symptoms of HIV/AIDS. The film is animated in such a way that it will keep the children attached to it till it get over. For doing this, while developing the film it was decided that considering the age of viewer as a children it will be developed in the animation. In childhood children are more engaged with the animated films and catching the same principle a carton film has developed with association with a professional firm. The film talks about the causes of HIV/AIDS, symptoms of HIV/AIDS, prevention methods for HIV/AIDS and up to certain extent about the medicine available for the disease. The film has been displayed in all the school of Pune area and most of the school have received the CD of these films to show their future coming students.
Students workshop
The workshops were organized in Hutama Balweer Prashala in Pune. The workshop was attend by almost 800 children from various schools of Pune Municipal Corporation. These workshops were focusing on the topics like personality development, sex education, health care and hygine, cultural heritage & Communal harmony. In the programmes Mr. Vandan Nagarkar gave is lectures to children on personality development, Dr. Parimal give lectures on health and hygine & Mr. B. G. Talele gave lectures on social services by children and its importance.
Teachers Skill Development Work shop
Dr. Ashok Kolaskar, Ex. Chancellor of Pune University, inaugurated the workshop and gave his guidance to the teacher with regards to the need of teacher’s skill development and to be updated. The workshop was implemented in association with the Human Resource Development Ministry of Government of India through the scheme of Strengthening Human Values in Education. Approximately 100 teachers from various schools participates in the workshop. The workshop was organized to create a plat-from for all the senior teacher to share their views and excahnge of Ideas
Documentary shows for the students in schools
The organization has developed two documentaries with the consultation of number of teachers in several workshops that has organized for the development of new audio video teaching aids for the children. The basic objective of the workshops were to do brain storming on the present teaching methodology and finding out new alternative sources which make the children to learn the particular topic very fast & easily. The developed teaching aids include two different documentaries one is on the Communal Harmony and a Cartoon film on HIV/AIDS awareness.
Both the documentaries are of 10 minutes each duration and manly speaks about the Communal Harmony & HIV/AIDS disease. The organization team members have been visiting the school along with all the necessary equipment to show these documentaries to the students. The programme has already covered 70% schools of Pune city and will be covering all the school from the city and also planning to reach the schools from the rural area of the pune district. On Saturday the documentary shows are getting arranged for the children after their school hours.
Bal Mela
The programme had its main objective to bring together the student from various schools at a place and let them to exchange their skills and qualities by providing platform to their performance. Eight different schools have participated in the programme and had perfomed various cultural programme. The programme was implemented in association with the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India under the scheme of Strengthening Human values in education. Various competition were arranged for the student during the Mela and the winners were awarded.
Story Sessions in schools
The prgramme had been implemented in 100 schools and the main objective of the programm is to inspire students by telling them inspiring and motivating stories. Expert story tellers were organized for these session and they taught various human values to the students through a medium of story. Every child likes to listen story hence many students actively participated in the sessions.
Students Exposure Visits
This activity was the part of the programme implemented by the organization with association of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The visit was aimed to take the students away from the burdon of study and their regular school schedule for a day to cheer them up and to frenshen their mind. The programme basically had two scheduled tours for the children where the first was arranged on Bavadhan Hill, whrere the nature conservation work is going on. The basic objective behind this tour was to inculcate the concept of nature conservation in the mind of children during their school age. The another tour was organized to a amusement park. The students enjoyed various rides and another game over them. Through out the day student enjoyed a lot. They also attended various small sessions about the culture, heritage & human values during the interval in two successive rides and games.
Student Work shop
The workshop was organized in association with Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The workshop was mainly organize to inform school going children about the importance of vocational skills, human value education, Culture & heritage of India, Indian Freedom and the major player for achieving this freedom & life skill education. The workshop was divided in to several sessions which were discussing the above mentioned topics. During the workshop children also got very precious information about the current trends in the vocational courses and their future prospects.
Visit to Disney land
As a cultural development activity the organization keep organizing such programmer every year. The main aim of this programme is to bring all children together and allow the exchange. As a motivator factor these programmes were organized as a exposure trips or visit to a particular place where children can enjoy too. This year the organization has organized a visit to Disney Land (A Local Carnival for children with various types swings and slides for children) Student from 5 different school took benefit of this programme free of charge. During the visit children were informed about various safety measures that they should follow when they are visiting crowded area. How they should behave if an unknown person trying to be friendly with them. What precautions they should take in case they are in any specific situations. They also informed about basic guidance of road safety and environmental awareness.
Skill Development Workshop for teachers
Two different Teachers Skill Development Workshop were organised at the conference hall of Maharashtra Chambers of Commerce and Agriculture, Pune. Dr. Ashok Kolaskar, Ex. Chansolor of Pune University, inaugurated the workshop and gave his guidance to the teacher with regards to the need of teachers skill development and to be updated. Dr. Kolaskar also stated that if we have to develop our education system then a teacher should start it by bringing those required changes in themselves first. The workshop was implemented in association with the Human Resource Development Ministry of Government of India through the scheme of Strengthening Human Values in Education. Approximately 100 teachers from various corporation school teachers took advantage of the workshops.
To develop various innovative teaching methods with discussion was the main objectives for these workshops. In both the workshop Speaker expressed their views while developing or changing syllabus for any particular class. During the discussion the teachers also made aware that why there is a constant need to change the syllabus, what factors are responsible for it and up to what extent the changes can be brought in to the syllabus. The whole discussion and sessions from the workshop motivated the teachers to boost their knowledge and try to adopt new innovative techniques for teaching the school subjects in their class room. During the discussion there was also some sessions to focus on the already developed techniques by some teachers. In the session they were given the time to express their designed techniques and method so that other teacher could learn it and can develop their own techniques by themselves according to the subject and the students they are dealing with.
Youth Development Programme (Entrepreneurship & Personality Development Camp)
This program was a joint effort of Dyan-Deep Jankalyan Foundation & District Sports Office, Pune with a common objective of entrepreneurship development among youths. The programme included various sessions with having main focus on entrepreneurship development of participants. It was a week time programme, which was organized at Shukrawar Peth, Pune. During the sessions participants were also asked to do some role-plays & games, which made it clear to them, how they can handle any particular situation in their business deal and discussion. The speakers shared their knowledge and experience among the participants. The programme was divided in various categories of session, half of them were dedicated to the subject ‘various avenues for the new entrepreneurs’ and half were dedicated on the subject related to personality, its importance and how one can improve his/her personality to become a successful entrepreneur. In the last sessions the specific inputs given to participants dealing with various credit and bank linkages opportunities available for the new and prospective entrepreneurs.
The donations made to the Foundation are eligible to the benefit of deduction u/s. 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961. Dyan-deep is also registered under Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 1976 No. 083930369.
